Latitude & Longitude:
375441N 1222105W
Via I-80 from the East:
Take Highway I-80 West (towards Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco). Turn off on Cutting Boulevard and head west about 2 miles. At the Marina Way light, turn left for 1 mile and you will see the Harbormasters Office on the left. The harbor itself can then be seen just beyond.
Via I-580 and I-880 from Oakland or the Bay Bridge:
On leaving the Bay Bridge, heading East, take I-80 East towards Berkeley and just past Berkeley’s Gilman Street, stay to the right and take the San Rafael I-580 turn off.
About 3 miles take a left on Marina Bay Parkway/South. Go past two stoplights (close together – one is Meeker Avenue), and over the railroad tracks.
Going to D Dock?
Go mile further on Marina Bay Pkwy, then turn right on Spinnaker Way. Look for a sign on the right; “Boathouse” and “D Dock”.
Going to E Dock?
Turn right on Regatta Blvd. The turnoff is on a corner, so it’s tricky. You will see a park on your left. On the far edge of the park (youll see boats beyond the park), turn left onto Melville Square for E Dock. One can continue to the right onto Esplanade Drive to Aminis Deli and the Salute Restaurant, and in to a condominium project. Turn right then left again onto Regatta Blvd.
Going to F or G Dock?
Continue North on Regatta Blvd. It Tees on Marina Way south. Turn left on Marina Way for 300 yards. You will then see the Harbormasters Office on the left with F and G Docks beyond. Make a U-Turn, then the first right along side the boat parking lot.
The Marina Bay Yacht Harbor is located in the northeast corner of San Francisco Bay (before you enter into San Pablo Bay), and can be found on NOAA Chart 18653 (San Francisco Bay – Angel Island to Point San Pedro).
Lay a course to the entrance of Point Potrero Reach, located at GPS coordinates 3754’37″N, 12223’03″W. Head east down the Reach to the Point Potrero Turn, then head north into Harbor Channel. Do not cut across the open water towards the marina basin, as that area is shoal! We have a special “Mud Duck” award for skippers who run aground there. Continue to the red channel marker No. 18, then round the marker to the port side and head east past the old Ford Motors plant (large brick building with a wharf) to the marina basin, staying center of the channel and to port of the line of three small red buoys. The marina basin itself has a depth of 12′ to 20′ with no known obstructions to a boat with an 8′ draft.
As always, these instructions are not meant to substitute for a skipper’s own prudent navigation, and no responsibility is assumed by the Marina Bay Yacht Club or its officers and members. Please consult your charts
